The fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) got underway on Friday with a sterling performance from Shahrukh Khan.Trust Shahrukh to add Bollywood razzmatazz to cricket frenzy. Hardly has the euphoria of winning the Cricket World Cup subsided that the fans of the sport got to witness a pulsating start of the IPL 4 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Shahrukh’s fifteen-minute performance began with the cult anthem “Chak De India” and had other peppy tracks for which South actress Shriya Saran joined him on stage. The opening ceremony was followed by a T20 match between Shahrukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders and the last year’s champs Chennai Super Kings.
It was a close match with many a see-saw moments. Eventually, KKR lost to CSK by just 2 runs.
